Working with Emotional Intelligence – An Organisational Development Strategy

There should be a key person at your organisation who co-ordinates coaching.  Sometimes an external coach is hired to assist individual employees with the different developmental needs that are identified through the emotional intelligence test, although employees who have the same area of developmental need might do well with a group coaching workshop instead (and your company can save on some coaching fees too).  Alternatively, you can choose to have an employee trained and provided with the relevant tools to allow working with emotional intelligence in-house.  After a pre-agreed time (e.g. 6-12 months) you can then re-administer the emotional intelligence test to check on individual attainments.  These developmental activities should be logged and periodically reviewed to ensure the work commissioned is creating value and is beneficial to both the individual and the company.

I hope you now have a better appreciation of the fact that working with emotional intelligence is key to ensuring emotional intelligence works for you.  To find out how you can work with emotional intelligence in your organisation, download our report now.
